The Government of NCT of Delhi invites applications for Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority Students (Class 1 to 12) 2018-19, Delhi. The scholarship scheme is open for students of class 1 to 12 belonging to the SC/ST/OBC community. Students who are the domiciles of Delhi can get up to INR 4500 per annum. The objective of the scheme is to provide financial assistance to students belonging to backward classes.

    Eligibility

    The eligibility requirements for the scholarship are as follows:

    • The student should be studying in class 1 to 12
    • The student should not have less than 70% attendance in the previous academic year
    • The family income of the student should not exceed 2 Lakh per annum
    • The student should belong to the SC/ST/OBC community 
    • The student should be a resident of Delhi for the past three years
    Benefits

    The scholarship designed for the welfare of the students in school will lead to the financial assistance of SC/ST/OBC/Minority students of class 1st to 12th in Government/recognized schools of Delhi. The beholders of the scholarship will be awarded:

    • INR 1000 per annum to class 1st to 8th students (No specific % of marks required) 

    OBC STUDENTS (Class 6th to 8th)

    • INR 600 per annum  (If the student has scored 55% to 60% marks in the previous class) 
    • INR 720 per annum  (If the student has scored above 60% marks in the previous class)

    SC/ST/OBC/Minority (Class 9th to 10th)

    • INR 1620 per annum (If the student has scored 55% to 60% marks in the previous class)
    • INR 2040 per annum (If the student has scored above 60% marks in the previous class) 

    SC/ST/OBC/Minority (Class 11th and 12th) 

    • INR 3000 per annum (If the student has scored 55% to 70% marks in the previous class)
    • INR 4500 per annum (If the student has scored above 70% marks in the previous class)
    Documents

    The following documents are required:

    • Residence Proof
    • Aadhaar Card/ Ration Card
    • Cast Certificate (for minority self-declaration) 
    • Income certificate (if applicable) 
    • Driving License issued by GNCTD
    • Previous class mark sheet 
    • Domicile certificate issued by SDM in Delhi/ Passbook of a nationalised bank. 
    • Verification letter (for outside Delhi application) 
    How can you apply?

    Follow the below steps to apply-

    Step 1: The applications can be submitted online through the E-district portal.
    Step 2: Login using existing credentials or register as a new user.
    Step 3: Provide all the relevant details and follow the instructions.
    Step 4: Select the scholarship scheme and upload the required documents.
    Step 5: Submit the application.

Important Dates
  • Applications open- 1st December 2018
  • Application deadline- 28th February 2019
Terms and Conditions
  • In the case of a minority student, a declaration by parent/guardian in the prescribed format that his son/daughter belongs to a particular minority community is required to be uploaded on the portal. 
  • Students must not be receiving benefits under any other centrally/state-funded scholarship.
  • The students who had already registered for the scholarships in the previous year on the E-district portal may opt for renewal by using the previous application id.
  • Student/applicant will be responsible for any incorrect/incomplete information filled in the portal.
  • System generated Login ID should be kept safely by the applicant for monitoring of their application on the e-district portal and e references.
