Maintenance Allowance to VJNT and SBC Students in Professional Courses 2023-24, Maharashtra is an initiative of the VJNT, OBC, and SBC Welfare Department, Government of Maharashtra, to provide financial help to VJNT and SBC category students who are pursuing professional courses and residing in hostels attached to professional colleges. The selected students will receive a monthly maintenance allowance of up to ₹1,000 for 10 months in a year.

Deadline30-Apr-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be a domicile of Maharashtra
- belong to Vimukta Jati and Nomadic Tribes (VJNT) and Special Backward Class (SBC) category
- be pursuing a professional course such as Engineering, Medical, Veterinary, Architecture, and Agriculture, etc.
- have an annual family income of less than or equal to ₹1,00,000
Note:- A scholarship recipient is allowed to switch from a non-professional course to a professional course but not the other way around.
Benefits The selected candidates will receive the award as follows:-
Maintenance allowance for students staying in college attached hostel:-
- For 4 to 5 years course (Medical, Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, Architecture, etc.): ₹700 per month for 10 months
- For 2 to 3 years course (Engineering Diploma, MBA, MSW, etc.): ₹500 per month for 10 months
- For courses with 2 years and lesser duration (BEd, DEd, etc): ₹500 per month for 10 months
Maintenance allowance for students not staying in government hostel:-
- For 4 to 5 years course (e.g. Medical, Engineering, Agriculture, Veterinary, Architecture, etc.): ₹1,000 per month for 10 months
- For 2 to 3 years course (e.g. Engineering diploma, MBA, MSW, etc.): ₹700 per month for 10 months
- For courses with 2 years and lesser duration (e.g. B.Ed., D.Ed., etc.): ₹500 per month for 10 months
Documents - Caste certificate
- Income certificate
- Leaving certificate
- College admission receipt
- Applicant's registration/application ID with a post-matric scholarship scheme
- Warden letter (Note:- Applicable only when the applicant is not getting admission to a government hostel or attached hostel to college)
- Student affidavit (In case, a student is staying outside of the hostel)
- Principal letter (In case, if a student is getting admission to an attached hostel)
- Rent agreement of private hostel/place (In case, if a student staying outside of the hostel)
How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button below.
Step 2: Click on the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note: If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID).
Step 3: Click on the 'New Applicant Registration' button at the right-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 4: Fill in all required details, verify the email and the phone number.
Step 5: Complete the Aadhaar authentication process either through OTP or biometrics.
Step 6: After completing the authentication process, fill in all the required details to 'Register'.
Step 7: Now, click on the 'Applicant login' button on the right-hand side of the dashboard.
Step 8: Log in using the username and password.
Step 9: Fill in the necessary details, upload the specified documents, and submit.

Selection Criteria
The candidates will be selected based on the fulfilment of eligibility criteria.

Terms and Conditions
- The scholarship will not be granted for more than 2 professional courses.
- If an applicant fails in a particular year, they will receive the maintenance allowance for that specific academic year. However, they will not be eligible to receive the benefit until they successfully get promoted to the next higher class.
- The applicants who are residing outside the hostel are required to submit a certificate that they had applied for the government hostel and college hostel but could not get admission even though they are eligible for admission.
- Applicants who have received admission in a government hostel are not entitled to maintenance allowance.
- Scholarship/freeship will be applicable to the student pursuing a professional postgraduate course like an M.B.A. after B.Ed. degree.
For Renewal:
- Applicant must have passed the previous year's examination.
- Applicants must successfully pass each year of the educational program to receive reimbursement for that year.
