Khyentse Foundation invites applications for Buddhist Studies Scholarships 2019 from students, teachers, scholars, practitioners and translators who wish to study the Dharma at any of the participating institutions. The scholarship aims to support such individuals.

    Eligibility

    To be eligible, an applicant must be a student, scholar, teacher, practitioner or translator of any tradition, school and sects of Buddhism. 
    Note: The individuals who are enrolled in a degree program in Buddhist Studies, attending a retreat, or studying Tibetan to become a translator can apply for this scholarship. 

    Benefits

    The scholarship amount ranges from USD 500 to USD 3,000 which is applicable for one-year term.

    How can you apply?

    Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship online through following steps -
    Step 1: Click here to download the application form. 
    Step 2: Save the form on the computer and open it with Adobe Reader. 
    Step 3: Fill in all required details in the application form.
    Step 4: Save the document and send the completed application to scholarships@khyentsefoundation.org. 

Important Dates

Applications for the scholarship are invited twice a year -

  • December 15 to January 15
  • June 15 to July 15
Selection Criteria

All applications received are reviewed by an international selection committee appointed by Dzongar Khyentse Rinpoche after which the final selection will be made.

  • The students applying to study at Rangjung Yeshe Institute in Nepal can directly apply to RYI.
  • The foundation gives RYI an annual amount towards financial aid for the ordained sangha, work-study participants, and lay students.
