FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2024 is an opportunity offered by the FOSSEE (Free/Libre and Open Source Software Educational Ecosystem) to students from any college, pursuing any degree, and at any stage of their graduation/postgraduation degree. The selected candidates will receive a fellowship certificate, the opportunity to work with faculty from IIT Bombay, and recognition on the FOSSEE website.

FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2024
Deadline22-Apr-2024 Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must:-
- be an Indian citizen
- be pursuing any degree or at any stage of the graduation/postgraduation degree
Benefits The selected candidates will receive a fellowship certificate, the opportunity to work with faculty from IIT Bombay, and recognition on the FOSSEE website.
Note:- Candidates may receive an honorarium depending on the quality of work at the end of the fellowship.
How can you apply? Eligible applicants can apply for the opportunity by following the steps mentioned below:-
Step 1: Click on the 'Apply Now' button.
Step 2: Click the 'Register' button and fill in the required registration details. (Note - If already registered, log in using Gmail/Mobile number/Email ID.)
Step 3: Navigate to 'Registration and Selection Procedure' and click on the given link.
Step 4: Fill in the required details and submit.

Result Announcement: 7th May 2024
Commencement of the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2024: 15th May 2024 (tentative)
Conclusion of the FOSSEE Summer Fellowship 2023: Mid-July 2024
Selection Criteria
- Selection Process:
- Candidates will be selected based on their performance in the screening tasks.
- Applicants are required to complete at least one of the offered screening tasks.
- Selection will be based solely on the evaluation criteria established for each specific screening task.
- Screening Tasks:
- Tasks may involve programming, scientific computing, conducting awareness workshops, or collecting data beneficial to the community.
- These screening tasks are designed to be achievable within a two- to four-week timeframe.
- Evaluation and Results:
- Submitted tasks will be reviewed by FOSSEE team experts and mentors.
- Following the review, the fellowship committee will select the top submissions.
- The names of the chosen fellows will be announced on the FOSSEE website.
Terms and Conditions
- During the fellowship, fellows will have the flexibility to work full-time (8 hours a day) or part-time (4 hours a day).
- The names of selected FOSSEE Fellows will be displayed on the FOSSEE website. Additionally, they will receive an email confirmation regarding their selection sent to their registered email address. Therefore, it's crucial to ensure all details in the registration form are accurate.
- Once the fellowship begins, each fellow work will be evaluated weekly based on both quality and quantity. If the work is deemed unsatisfactory at any point, the fellowship offer may be withdrawn.
