The Felix Scholarship Trust provides scholarships to meritorious Indian nationals with a first class degree to pursue studies at SOAS University of London. This initiative aims to provide an opportunity to talented Indian students to complete their education from SOAS University of London without worrying about finances. The Felix Scholarships SOAS University of London 2019-20, UK will offer support to students willing to pursue full-time PhD or Taught Masters programmes through financial support for tuition fee and living cost.

    Eligibility

    The eligibility requirements for the scholarship are: 

    • The student should be an Indian citizen residing in India.
    • The candidate should be a graduate.
    • The student should have an excellent academic background.
    • The candidate should be a full-time student.
    • The student should be pursuing either PhD or any Taught Masters Programme from the university.
    • The candidate should have a financial need for the scholarship.
    • The candidates are supposed to have an offer of admission by early March 2019.
    • The student must meet the English proficiency conditions.
    Benefits

    The selected scholars will receive a scholarship amount covering: 

    • Full cost of tuition fees
    • Complete living costs
    • A return airfare

    Note: The scholarship amount hasn't been fixed for this year. Last year's scholarship amount was GBP 15,767.

    • Academic transcripts of the student
    • An explanation for the grading system for any degrees obtained outside of the UK
    • Two references 
    • Curriculum vitae 
    • Research proposal (for PhD)
    • Personal statement
    How can you apply?

    Follow the below steps to apply:

    Step 1: Apply at SOAS University of London by choosing the course of interest.
    Step 2: Fill the application form for the scholarship.
    Step 3: Save a copy of the application form.
    Step 4: Submit the application form by 16:00 GMT (UK local time) on 31st January 2019.

    Note: The form can neither be retrieved nor be updated. Thus, fill up the form with utmost certainty and then submit it.

  • Notification of result- April 2019
  • Interview for final selection- Between April and May 2019
  • Notification of selected candidate- June 2019

Terms and Conditions
  • The student must be an Indian citizen and must not be residing or studying outside the country.
  • Those who have already taken up a scholarship to pursue PhD studies at an Indian University are not eligible for a Felix scholarship.
  • The student should be in need of financial assistance. 
  • The graduates are expected to return and work in their home country.
  • Late or incomplete applications will not be considered.
  • Candidates should fulfil the English language requirements.
  • The students must possess a Bachelor's degree from an Indian university or a comparable institution.
  • Priority may be given to students with a higher first class degree at the Master's level.
