About The Program
Goa's Interest Free Education Loan (IFEL) Scheme is a Government of Goa initiative offering financial assistance to eligible Goa residents pursuing higher education without incurring interest charges. Managed and administered by the Goa Education Development Corporation (GEDC), the scheme provides loans for undergraduate and postgraduate courses both in India and abroad. It aims to support students from economically weaker backgrounds through interest-free loans.
Under this scheme, for domestic studies, the loan can cover up to the actual course fee, with a maximum of ₹2,00,000 per year, capping at a total of ₹10,00,000 over five years, provided the course fee is ₹10,000 or more. The maximum annual loan for international studies is also the actual course fee but with a ceiling of ₹8,00,000 per year and a total cap of ₹16,00,000 over two years.
