Ericsson Empowering Girl Scholarship Program 2022 is an initiative of Ericsson to provide financial support to meritorious girl students coming from underprivileged sections of the society. Under this scholarship program, girl students pursuing studies in the 2nd year of Engineering (IT/CS) or MBA program across India will be provided with financial assistance of INR 75,000 per year to cover their academic expenses.
Ericsson is one of the leading providers of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) to service providers globally. The company has launched this scholarship program as part of its CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiative to encourage and help meritorious girl students from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue their higher education.

- Applicants must be studying in the 2nd year of the Engineering program in ICT streams (IT/CS) at state/UGC recognized colleges in India.
- Applicants must have scored at least 6.5 GPA or equivalent marks in the previous final examination.
- Annual family income of the applicant from all sources must not be more than INR 6,00,000.
- Children of employees of Ericsson and Buddy4Study are not eligible.
Benefits: INR 75,000 per year

What is the selection process for this scholarship program?
The selection of scholars for ‘Ericsson Empowering Girl Scholarship Program’ will be made based on their academic merit and financial background. It involves a multi-stage process as detailed below –
- Initial shortlisting of applicants based on their academic merit, financial background and college profile
- Telephonic interview of shortlisted candidates followed by document verification
- Final interview with Ericsson selection committee for final selection
Note: Students from premium institutions will be given preference during shortlisting rounds.
Is this a multi-year scholarship?
Yes. Based on the following criteria, scholars may be considered for their scholarship renewal in successive years –
- No dropout (from regular academic sessions)
- No disciplinary issues
- Academic performance should always be more than 6 GPA or equivalent
- Students should submit receipts for authorised expenses incurred during the past academic year (including tuition fees, hostel and mess fees, books, schooling-related internet charges and other directly education-related expenses)
- Final decision will lie with the scholarship provider and availability of fund
I am currently in the first year of an MBA program. Can I apply for this scholarship?
No. This scholarship is only open for those girl students who are in the 2nd year of MBA program at reputed colleges in India.
I am in the 3rd year of my B.Tech. (Electrical) program. Am I eligible for this scholarship?
No. This scholarship is only open for those girl students who are in the 2nd year of Engineering program in ICT streams (IT/CS).
