GITW Film Festival 2016-17 objective is to provide opportunity who seek innovative solutions to local and global issues and use arts & media to ignite positive change. Candidates can make a short film on the critical issues affecting women and girls around the world or propose solutions to critical challenges faced by women of between 3 to 6 minutes and can win awards & prizes. Each individual candidate may be involved in the making of up to two films.

    Eligibility
    • Candidates must be up to 25 or under on 31st Dec. 2016.
    • Candidates are currently involved in undergraduates. 
    • Candidates should be full-time high school students.
    How can you apply?

    Application can be done online with the following steps:
    Step 1:
    Select at least one of the GITW issue areas to make a film.
    Step 2: Make film between 3 to 6 minutes.
    Step 3: At the end of the film end marker will be attached.
    Step 4: Fill the form.
    Step 5: Now submit the film.
    Step 6: Upload.

Terms and Conditions

Film Requirements:

  • The film should be between 3 to 6 minutes.
  • The film must have end marker still image. http://www.connecther.org/images/end-marker.jpg
  • The film can be a narrative, documentary, investigative reporting, music video, animation, or curated film (film collage).
  • The film must be created after 1st Jan.
  • The film must be original work and not infringe any copyright or ownership agreements.

Videos must either:

  • Raise awareness about critical issues affecting women and girls around the world 'or'
  • Propose solutions to critical challenges faced by women.

  • Teen & child marriage
  • Sex trafficking and slavery
  • Women and girls in media
  • Honest Beauty
  • Women in leadership

  • Ending child marriage
  • Ending FGM
  • Gender pay gap - equal pay
  • Women and the environment
  • Refugee Stories
  • Stand Up Men

This scholarship is closed for further applications. It is expected to be launched by October, 2024. You can follow this scholarship for further updates.
