Vermont Studio Center's Fellowship 2017

1. VSC Fellowship
Twenty-five (25) VSC fellowships open to ALL artists and writers living and working anywhere in the world. All applicants will be automatically considered for one of these twenty-five unrestricted awards. These awards are for residencies scheduled between September 2017 and May 2018.

Every VSC residency opportunity includes private room, private studio space, all meals, and full access to the schedule of evening programs and events. 

2. National Endowment for the Arts / Sustainable Arts Foundation Fellowship
Six (6) 2-week fellowships for artists and writers who are raising young children. Each residency fellowship includes a $1,000 stipend to cover lost income, travel, child care, or other costs related to taking time away from the family. For residencies between September 2017-April 2018.

ELIGIBILITY: Please include a copy of a tax return (or other documentation) that demonstrates you have dependents under the age of 18.

3. David Bermant Foundation Fellowship

One (1) fellowship for a visual artist focused on kinetic art, including sound sculpture, performance, and art that incorporates time, motion, and change.  Preference will be given to work that draws its form, content and materials from current technology.

4. Jon Imber Painting Fellowship

One (1) fellowship in honor of VSC friend and Visiting Artist Jon Imber, who lost his battle with ALS in April 2014. The fellowship will be awarded to a painter whose work embodies the spirit of Jon Imber.

5. Henry David Thoreau Fellowship 

One (1) fellowship for a poet whose creative work directly engages environmental issues and embodies the life, work, and spirit of Henry David Thoreau.
