Description

‘Uni-GAUGE’ alludes to uni (one), uniform (consistent), unique (unparalleled), universal (concerning all), university (institution of learning), and ‘Gauge’ which means an estimate of assessment or measure. ‘GAUGE’ is also an acronym for Graduate And Under-Graduate Entrance.

‘Uni-GAUGE’ is a pan-India, computer-aided assessment platform. This platform serves well in making eligibility streamlined in streams of professional education viz. Medical, Dental and Engineering across colleges in India. It enables students to take one entrance exam and seek admission to many universities across India into colleges to pursue UG and PG courses. It stands for trust, transparency and reliability in assessment.

‘Uni-GAUGE’ has commenced all India entrance exams for post-graduate and undergraduate courses in medical, dental, engineering and technology streams. Uni-GAUGE has announced Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015, All India Entrance Examination for Engineering(B.E/B.Tech), Medical(MBBS) and Dental(BDS) streams.

Eligibility

1. Eligibility criteria for Engineering (BE and B. Tech) Programmes

A. The qualifying examinations prescribed for admission for B.E. / B. Tech is second Pre-University Course (PUC) or 10+2 Higher Secondary or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government; the last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics as compulsory subject, (Biology or Bio-technology instead of chemistry for BE/B-Tech and Bio Technology) or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subject, with English as a compulsory subject
B. General Merit candidates should have passed with a minimum aggregate of 45% marks (40% in respect of SC, ST and OBC candidates) and should have passed these subjects individually. Physics and Mathematics are compulsory subjects along with Chemistry or Bio Technology or Biology or any other technical vocational courses as one of the optional subjects
C. The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and expecting the percentage of marks as at (B) are also eligible to apply

Other Eligibility Criteria:

– The candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2015 i.e. the candidate should be born on or before 31st Dec 1998
– Additional criteria including, number of attempts, age limit, reservations for regional, social, economic, linguistic minority, if any, will be made available by participating universities/institutions on their respective websites
– Candidates are required to provide a declaration about their eligibility to ERA foundation while filling up the application form online. However the relevant proofs are to be submitted directly to Universities/Institutions, as required.
Diploma students can also apply for “Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015” entrance exam for admissions into BE/B-Tech courses in Member participating Universities/Institutions

2. Eligibility criteria for UG Medical and Dental courses are as follows:

A. The candidates should have qualified in second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent examination recognized by State / Central Government. The last two years of study shall comprise of Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) with English as a compulsory subject
B. General Merit candidates must have passed these subjects (PCB) individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in PCB (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of the respective State). The General Merit Candidate Must also secure not less than 50% marks (40% in the case of SC, ST and OBC candidates of respective state) in aggregate in PCB subjects in the Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015
C. The candidates who are appearing for the prescribed qualifying examination and expecting the percentage of marks as at (b) are also eligible to apply

Other Eligibility Criteria:

– The candidate shall complete the age of 17 years on or before 31st December 2015 i.e. the candidate should be born on or before 31st Dec 1998
– Additional criteria including, number of attempts, age limit, reservations for regional, social, economic, linguistic minority, if any, will be made available by participating universities/institutions on their respective websites. – Candidates are required to provide a declaration about their eligibility to ERA foundation while filling up the application form online
The following candidates are not eligible for participating in Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015 and hence need not apply:
A. Candidates who have passed the qualifying examination i.e. second PUC or 10+2 or equivalent prior to 2013
B. Candidates already pursuing Medical UG course anywhere in India
C. Candidates who were caught attempting to impersonate or found following / adopting any of the malpractices earlier including entertaining the touts and agents.

Post-Graduation Medical, Dental Entrance Exams Eligibility Criteria

  • Candidates must fulfill all requirements instructed by Medical Council of India (MCI)/Dental Council of India (DCI)
  • Candidates should have secured MBBS/BDS from a recognized university and should have completed their internship by 30/04/2015
  • The candidates belonging to General Category should have secured atleast 50% in their MBBS/BDS
  • The candidates belonging to Reserved (SC/ST/OBC) Category should have secured atleast 40% in their MBBS/BDS
  • For Indian Nationals with recognized degree from foreign universities, any payment of the prescribed fee for the registration grant permanent/temporary registration by such candidates shall be subject to the condition that the degree is duly registered in the country where the degree is obtained and is recognized by the corresponding council or the concerned authority in India
  • Candidates are required to acknowledge a declaration about their eligibility to Era Foundation by filling up the application form online
  • The candidates who have completed their internship or who are due to complete their internship by April 30, 2015 are eligible to apply

How to apply?

How to apply Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015:

  • To register for Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015, please refer to ‘How to Apply Instructions’ doc. This has a registration form along with suitable instructions
  • On Registration the applicant will be provided with Login ID and Password. The application process requires the candidate to complete the prescribed application form and submit it along with relevant documents and prescribed fees
  • ERA website (www.erafoundationindia.org) has suitable forms, a facility to upload and download documents, and to pay fees. It will also have suitable instructions. Please read carefully and follow the instructions for completing application process
  • Online Test Admission Ticket will be available under the Applicant’s login on ERA website from 20th April 2015 till 26th April 2015
  • Download and obtain printout of the Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) for taking the scheduled test to be held on 26/04/2015
  • Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) is a mandatory document. Candidates will not be allowed to take the ‘Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015’ without this document
  • Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) gives the details of test centre assigned to the candidate. There is no provision for any request to change the test centre
  • Please note that Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) will NOT be dispatched in any other form to the candidates under any circumstances. After the Entrance test commences, the provision for printing Online Test Admission Ticket will be disabled. Hence the candidates must preserve the Online TAT until the admission process is complete

Fee structure for Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015:

  • For Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
  • For Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) – Rs. 1500/- (Rupees One Thousand Five Hundred)
  • For Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) – Rs. 2,000/- (Rupees Two Thousand) This fee is non-refundable

 

How to Apply for Post-Graduation Medical and Dental Entrance Exams

Registration: The candidates who are not registered online with Era Foundation may visit the website to register.
Download and obtain printout of the Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) for taking the scheduled test to be held on 15/02/2015.

  • Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) is a mandatory document. Candidates will not be allowed to take the Uni-GAUGE PGMD-2015 without this document
  • Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) gives the details of test center assigned to the candidate. There is no provision for any request to change the test center
  • Please note that Test Admission Ticket (Online TAT) will NOT be dispatched in any other form to the candidates under any circumstances
  • After the Entrance test is commenced, the provision for printing Online Test Admission Ticket will be disabled. Hence the candidates must preserve the Online TAT until the admission process is complete

Fee Details: Fees for submission of the application form of the Uni-GAUGE PGMD 2015 is Rupees Two thousand five hundred (INR 2500/-). This fee is non-refundable.
Mode of payment: Pay the application fee online through, Credit Card, Debit Card and Net Banking.

Timings and other Details – Uni-GAUGE EMeD 2015

  • The test will be conducted in the combination of the below subjects:
    A. Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics (PCM) – for engineering stream. The time allotted for the test would be 135 minutes (2 hrs:15 min)
    B. Physics, Chemistry and Biology (PCB) – for Medical and Dental streams. The time allotted for the test would be 135 minutes (2 hrs: 15 min)
    C. Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and Biology (PCMB) – for aspirants of both streams. The time allotted for the test would be 180 minutes (3 hours)
  • The test will begin on 26/04/2015 at 10:00 AM and end at 12:15 PM for PCM or PCB and at 01:00PM for PCMB
  • This is an online test – i.e. computer based test
  • Each correct answer is awarded one mark
  • There will be no negative marks for wrong answer
  • If there is a tie in the score, participating Member Universities will adopt methods to break tie to determine the inter-se merit as part of their admission process.
