Description

The UNESCO has created -Hamdan bin Rashid Al-Maktoum Prize 2017 to support the enhancement of teaching and learning quality in achieving the goals. It amounts to US $ 300,000 which is equally divided between three winners whose projects aim at improving the performance and effectiveness of teachers worldwide.

Eligibility

Individual candidates representing the following groups can apply:

  • International Governmental Organisation
  • National Governmental Organisation
  • Non-governmental organizations (NGOs)
  • Educational or Research institutions 
  • Local/national/regional communities

Procedure to apply:
Step 1: Download the application form and nomination form from official site
Step 2: Fill in all the necessary details of application form
Step 3: Get the nomination form filled by the nominating body  
Step 4: Send it by post to UNESCO at below given address:

Note: A candidate can either apply by asking a nominating body to send its application to UNESCO or the nominating body may initiate the process of nominating a candidate and send the application to UNESCO.

More Information

Selection process
1. Applications received before the deadline are reviewed by the Screening panel, who will eliminate non-eligible candidates and transmit accepted applications to the International Jury of the Prize.
2. The International Jury meets in Dubai (United Arab Emirates) to select the Prize winners.
3. Prizes are awarded to winners during an official ceremony organized at UNESCO Headquarters in Paris on the occasion of World Teachers’ Day (October 2018)
