About The Program

The Woodrow Wilson National Fellowship Foundation invites applications for the Woodrow Wilson Dissertation Fellowship in Women's Studies 2018 from PhD candidates, enrolled in humanities and social sciences at an American university in US, whose work addresses topics of women and gender in interdisciplinary and original ways.   

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Have completed all pre-dissertation requirements. 
  • Be writing on issues related to women, gender, women's studies or feminist/gender/LGBTQ theory.
  • Be enrolled in a graduate school in the United States.
  • Be studying in areas of humanities and social sciences. 
  • Complete the PhD by summer 2019.

To apply for the fellowship, the candidates need to follow the given steps:

Step 1: Visit the official page of the fellowship. 
Step 2: Click on 'Apply Now'.
Step 3: Click on 'Create Account'.
Step 4: Fill in the required information and create the account. 
Step 5: To apply online for the fellowship, again login using the email address and password. 
Step 6: Fill the application form properly and upload all the necessary submissions. 
Step 7: Finally, submit the duly filled application form along with all submissions prior to the deadline. 

 

Terms and Conditions
  • The fellowship encourages original research about women that crosses disciplinary, cultural or regional boundaries. 
  • Previous fellows are not eligible to apply for the fellowship this year. 
  • The applicants need to provide recommendations of the person who is directing their dissertation and a faculty member. 
  • The fellows under this fellowship will serve a tenure of one year from 1 September 2018 to 31 August 2019. 
  • Projects in the field of management, biological and clinical sciences, as well as law, are not eligible to apply unless they have a demonstrable academic ground in social sciences and humanities.

A. Yes, foreign citizens can also apply only if they fulfil the following eligibility criteria -

  • They are enrolled in a doctoral program at a university located in the US. 
  • They have completed all pre-dissertation requirements.
