Nestle in partnership with Ashoka, the world’s leading network of systems-changing social entrepreneurs, has announced the Nestle Creating Shared Value Prize 2018 to reward innovative projects, programmes or businesses that show positive social and environmental impact in nutrition, water or rural development.

    Eligibility

    In order to be eligible for this competition, look at the following criteria:

    • Entities can be from any nation so long as they help the underpriviledged parts of the community. 
    • Applications must be in languages - English, French, Spanish or Portuguese. They will not be considered if in any other language.
    • Entities can be social enterprises, commercial enterprises or non-governmental organisations.
    • Applications seeking to use the Nestlé Prize money to provide financial assistance to third parties will not be considered eligible. Prize money must be used for the applicant organisation or programme only.
    • Applications covering programmes that are already financed or supported by Nestlé S.A., affiliates, subsidiaries, joint ventures are not eligible.
    • Applications covering programmes that have been awarded the CSV Prize in former nomination periods are not eligible for the CSV Prize again. 
    • Applications from local, grassroots organisations will be preferred over applications from international, large-scale organisations.
    • Teams of individuals, employees of Nestlé S.A., their parent companies, affiliates and subsidiaries, joint ventures, participating advertising and promotion agencies (and members of their immediate family, defined as parents, children, siblings and spouse, regardless of where they reside, and/or those living in the same household) are not eligible.
    • The aforementioned employees (and members of their immediate family as defined in the paragraph before) will not be eligible neither if they participate through an organisation that they have founded or where they hold a major participation or management position.
    • Enterprises making a social and/or environmental impact, by either improving access to nutrition, enhancing rural development, or having a significant impact on water management or access to clean water, are eligible.
    • Those entities that have the initiative that has the potential to grow on a broad-scale, or replicate in a new community or context and has a viable business model or financial sustainability plan, are eligible.

    Note- The applicant may be the founder, co-founder, CEO or hold an equivalent leadership position in the organisation.

    How can you apply?

    In order to apply, follow the steps given below-
    Step 1- Go to this page. 
    Step 2- Click on ADD YOUR IDEA.
    Step 3- Click on SIGN UP PAGE to create an account. Note- One can log in with existing Google account or Facebook account too.
    Step 4- Fill in all the details and submit. Note- A confirmation email will be sent to the registered email id.
    Step 5- Go to the registered email id, open the respective email and click on verify the email. Note- It will redirect to the page from where one can participate.Check the junk files too if the email is not in the inbox.
    Step 6- Click on PARTICIPATE IN PRIZE ENTRY.
    Step 7- Click on ADD YOUR IDEA.
    Step 8- Fill in all the details and click on SAVE & PUBLISH to submit.

Terms and Conditions

Selection criteria and timeline-

The CSV Prize timeline is as follows:

  • Application Window will be opened from 28 August 2017 to 30 October 2017.
  • Application Screening and Shortlisting (Phase 1) will be conducted between 31 October 2017 to 30 November 2017.
  • Application refinement will be conducted between 1 December 2017 to 20 December 2017.
  • Review by Screening Committees (Phase 2) will be done between 21 December 2017 to 31 January 2018.
  • Review by Creating Shared Value Council (Phase 3) will be done between February to March 2018.
  • Public announcement of the Nestlé CSV Prize Winner 2018 will be in March 2018.

Award details-

All applicants will have the chance to receive feedback via the OpenIdeo online review function, including the opportunity to view, review and connect with other applicants to the CSV Prize. For more details, click here.
