About The Program

The Getty Trust has announced Getty Graduate Internships 2018-19 for graduate students of all nationalities who want to pursue careers in fields related to the visual arts. The internships are offered in the four programs - the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Getty Research Institute, the Getty Conservation Institute, and the Getty Foundation, as well as in Getty Publications.

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed
The internships are open to students of all nationalities. To be eligible, applicants must be:
  • Students currently enrolled in a graduate program (Masters or Doctorate) in a field relevant to the internship(s).OR
  • Individuals who have completed a relevant graduate degree on or after January 1, 2015, with post-graduate activities in their field, paid or unpaid.

Step 4: Attach all the necessary documents.
Step 5: Finally, submit the application form.

Terms and Conditions

Award Details:

  • Grant amounts are $20,000 for eight months, $30,000 for twelve months, plus $1,000 towards relocation expenses. 
  • Support for research travel is available for up to $2,500. 
  • Additional information about the terms of these grants is available here.

Graduate interns are eligible to enrol in the Getty's health care plan. Please note that grant funds may be subject to federal and state taxes and deductions.
