About The Program

Swami Vivekananda Merit Cum Means Scholarship 2016 aim is to provide financial support to the poor and meritorious students of class 11 onwards of West Bengal. Students who are domiciled in West Bengal and studying in an educational institution of this state after passing out from the state board or council of secondary or higher secondary education or madrasha siksha parisad or a university of West Bengal and students whose annual family income is Rs 250000 or less.

  • Students who are domiciled in West Bengal and studying in this state.
  • Students at higher secondary level, diploma must have atleast 75% marks in 10th excluding optional subjects.
  • Students at undergraduate level must have atleast 75% marks in 12th including two language subjects on five subjects.
  • Students at postgraduate level must have atleast 55% marks in graduation in general education or engineering.
  • Annual family income is Rs 250000 or less.
How can you apply?

Application can be done online and then post with following steps:
Step 1: Firstly students have to open.
Step 2: Select the category.
Step 3: Now select the language to apply.
Step 4: Create new account.
Step 5: Select user type.
Step 6: Fill the application form.
Step 7: Now take out the print of application form and attached required documents.
Step 8: Send it to the required address of different categories of students.

Terms and Conditions

Documents attached with the form:

  1. Photocopy of marksheet, first page of bank passbook, ration card or voter id card.
  2. Income certificate original.
  3. Income affidavit original.
  4. Recent passport size and signed photograph.

Different categories of students will submit their applications to the different offices as mentioned here under:

  1. Class 11 students-Commissioner of School Education, West Bengal, (Training and Examination Cell), Bikash Bhavan, 7th Floor, Salt Lake, Kolkata: 700091
  2. The First Year students of UG and PG courses in General Education(Arts, Commerce and Science), and other Professional courses approved by UGC, excluding Engineering and Medical- Directorate of Public Instruction, West Bengal, Scholarship and Stipend Section, Bikash Bhavan, 9th Floor, North Wing, Salt Lake, Kolkata: 700091
  3. The students pursuing 1st year or 2nd year polytechnic Diploma course after passing Madhyamik Pariksha/Higher Secondary or its equivalent Examination – Directorate of Technical Education and Training, West Bengal, Vocational Training Institute, Plot: B/7, Action Area III, New Town, Kolkata: 700156
  4. The First year UG and PG courses (Engineering and Technology) and other Professional Engineering courses of equivalent status approved by AICTE-Directorate of Technical Education, West Bengal, Bikash Bhavan, 10th Floor, East Wing (South), Salt Lake, Kolkata: 700091
  5. The 1st year UG(Medical) students pursuing the courses like MBBS, BDS, BHMS, BAMS, and UG (Nursing) and Students of Pharmacy in three Government Institutes located at Jalpaiguri, Kalyani and Bankura -Directorate of Medical Education, West Bengal, “Swasthya Bhavan”, GN-Block, Sector-V, Kolkata:700091
