SHDF Scholarships 2018 is a means-based scholarship which invites applications from class 12 passed and graduate students for studying professional diploma, degree or postgraduate courses in a recognised institution/university in India. The main objective of this scholarship is to support meritorious undergraduates who aspire to achieve excellence in their studies.

    Eligibility
    • Students who have appeared in class 12 examination in March 2018 and graduates are eligible to apply. 
    • Students who have passed class 12 in 2017-18 can also apply.
    • Students must have scored a minimum 60% marks in the previous two examinations.
    • Students' annual family income must not be more than INR 1,80,000, i.e., monthly income should not be more than INR 15,000.

     

    Benefits

    Under this scholarship scheme, selected students will get up to INR 30,000 per annum along with other incentives depending upon the needs, aspirations and courses to be pursued by them.

     

    Documents
    • 3 recently clicked coloured passport size photographs (2 of them to be pasted on the application form at the indicated places and 1 photo with the name of the candidate written on the backside)
    • Self-attested copies of mark sheets of class 10, 12 and later exam, if any
    • DMC /Attested copies of Gazette (for the examinations passed during 2017-2018) of professional courses
    • Self-attested fee receipts paid for the academic year 2018-19
    • Note: Handwritten receipts will not be accepted.
    • Copy of death certificate(s), if father/mother is not alive
    • Proof of family income (both parents): Attested copy of latest Income Tax Return (ITR)/Employer Certificate/Pension Certificate with yearly income mentioned on it, original valid certificate from the Tehsildar or village Sarpanch (stating agricultural land’s acreage and annual income)  
    • Note: Daily wage labourers, small shopkeepers (specify the type of shop), self-employed persons (who have filed no ITR) need to provide original affidavit which states income from all sources as per the appropriate format enclosed within the application form.

    Step 4: Now, send the application form along with the documents by speed/registered post or courier with 'SHDF Scholarships- 2018' written on top of the envelope to:

Important Dates

Deadline to submit application form: 10 August 2018
Date of written test: 19 August 2018

 

Selection Criteria
  • Applicant will have to appear for a written test which will consist of two papers in Panjabi language and general knowledge.
    • Paper I: There will be an elementary test of the subject General Grammar.
    • Paper II: This paper will contain questions from religious and moral studies of a book named 'Naitik Sikhiya' which is published by Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana.
  • After qualifying in written test, the selected students will have to appear for interview, whose date, time and venue will be notified to students later on.

Note: Students will have to score a minimum 50% marks in written test to qualify for interview round.

  • The scholarship is applicable for courses like Engineering, IT, Computer Science, Medical, Nursing, Home Science, Architecture, Agriculture, Business Management, B.Ed., Journalism, CA, etc.
  • Applicants can obtain the book 'Naitik Sikhya' to prepare for the test from Literature Publication Department, Guru Gobind Singh Study Circle, Ludhiana. 
  • Only students belonging to needy families are eligible to apply.
  • False information will result in the termination of the scholarship and legal action.
  • For renewal of the scholarship, students need to submit complete information in the application form as well as in the Report from College Authorities.
  • Status of the application can be checked on Nishkam website “www.nishkam.in”. Phone call will not be entertained in this regard.
  • In case of any change in the applicant's postal address or email id or phone number, concerned authorities must be informed immediately.
  • Decision of management for scholarships shall be final and binding.
  • Candidates need to bring their Admit Card and ID Proof while coming for the written tests and interview. 
  • The seven centers where written test will be conducted are New Delhi, Chandigarh, Ludhiana, Faridkot, Moga, Bathinda and Amritsar.
  • After qualifying written test and interview, scholarship will only be granted if a student has taken admission in a professional course in recognised institute.
