About The Program

The Khaled bin Sultan Living Oceans Foundation invites applications for Science Without Borders Challenge 2018 from 11-19 years old students. It is an international creative art competition which aims to engage students to promote the need of protection and preservation of oceans and the sea lives dependent on them.

  1. The students must be studying in primary or secondary school.
  2. The students must fall between the age group of 11-19 years old.
How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through the following steps: 

Step 1: Candidate has to make a 2D painting or drawing by using paint, pencil, marker, crayon, ink, felt, and oil pastel.
Step 2: Write details as name and age with the pencil on the back of the artwork and the signature on the front, right-hand corner of your artwork.
Step 3: Fill in the required fields by clicking on the Entry Form.
Step 4: If the candidate is under the age of 13 years, he/she has to submit a COPPA Privacy Form by emailing the COPPA Form with the original artwork.
Step 5: All original artwork should be mailed to:

Terms and Conditions

The theme of the artwork should be 'Why coral reefs matter'. The artwork should portray its importance for you, your country, the world or our ecosystem.

The artwork will be judged in two categories on the basis of the age
Category 1: 11 – 14 year-olds
Category 2: 15 – 19 year-olds
There will be three winners in both the categories.

Prizes will be awarded to contestant winners are as follows:
1st Place: $500
2nd Place: $350
3rd Place: $200
