About The Program

S.N. Bose Scholars Program 2018 has been announced by the Science & Engineering Board (SERB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Govt. of India, the Indo-U.S. Science and Technology Forum (IUSSTF) and WINStep Forward. It aims to provide an opportunity to Indian students to experience world-class research facilities in top U.S. institutions.

Eligibility criteria:

  • Students currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters' degree at a recognized institution of higher education and learning in India.
  • Open to students of Atmospheric and Earth Sciences; Chemical Sciences; Engineering Sciences; Mathematical and Computational Sciences; and, Physical Sciences.
  • Students who will be completing their degree program on or after May 2019 are only eligible to apply.
  • Applications for the program are only accepted through nominations/endorsements.
  • Applications in fields other than those specified will not be considered.
  • 2 of the best students from each discipline will be nominated by the departments of each institute.
  • Two applications per stream, per department, per institute. For this purpose, for example, the usual two years Masters in Physics and Integrated Masters in Physics may be counted as 2 different streams and 2 different applications. 
  • Your department may choose to endorse other two meritorious students if the top 2 nominated students do not wish to apply.

Note: Ph.D. students are NOT eligible to apply. Only those students who have a minimum of one year remaining for the completion of their course in India are eligible to apply. In case you are pursuing your first semester in your master’s degree (MSc/M. Tech degree), kindly ensure that you attach your Bachelors rank certificate and mark list.

Step 3: Sign up by filling the required details.
Step 4: Then, log in using user ID and password.
Step 5: Fill in all the required details.
Step 6: Attach all the required documents.
Step 7: Finally, submit the form.

Terms and Conditions

The internship is a 10-12 week program, tentatively scheduled to be held by mid of May to July 2018.
The scholarship includes the following:
- Stipend of USD 2000
- Airfare- Roundtrip (to be booked by IUSSTF travel desk)
- Health Insurance
