About The Program

Prerana (Post Matric Scholarship Registration Release And Network Automation) Scholarship is for the ST, SC, OBC students, organised by Government of Odisha for the academic year 2016-17.

Students who are in their Post Matriculation Studies in any general/technical or professional courses in any Govt. or Govt. recognised Private institutes, and the annual family income of the parent/guardians from all sources is not exceeding Rs 2,50,000 per annum.

  • The annual family income of ST, SC students is not more than Rs 2,50,000 p.a.
  • The annual family income of OBC is not more than Rs 1,00,000 p.a. and they have to secure at least 50% marks in the previous examination.
  • Students should be a permanent resident of Odisha.
  • Student should have completed class 10.
How can you apply?

Application can be done online and take out the application print and submit to their institute.

For the sake of convenience to the applicants, the State Government has opened PRERANA portal to facilitate on-line applications for scholarship.

  • All the applicants, who are having Aadhaar Card or have applied for the same (EID number), are hereby requested to mention their Aadhaar number or EID number in their on-line application forms.
  • Those applicants who do not have Aadhaar card or EID number are requested to take steps for their Aadhaar enrolment and within 3 months update their on-line applications with their Aadhaar/EID number.
  • With the instruction of Govt. of India to make Aadhaar No./ EID mandatory, failure in providing information pertaining to Aadhaar No./ EID may create problem in future for smooth disbursement of Scholarships.

FAQ's

Q1. What is the last date for submitting applications online?
A: For such dates please look at the “Announcement” box in the home page.

Q2. Whether I have to fill up the online application in one sitting?
A: No. You can register by entering your basic details. The system would generate a Applicant-id & password for you. Please note down the generated Applicant-Id & Password. Later you can fill up the online application in as many sittings as you wish, until you are satisfied that you have entered all desirable fields correctly. The software provides facility to save your application. Once you “Lock” your application, you cannot be able to modify further.

Q3. Can I edit the information already saved and up to what time?
A: You can edit information filled by you, till you “ Lock and forward the online application” to the institute.

Q4. What details I have to fill up in Enrollment details of the Application form?
A: These are the following details they need:

  • In the Enrolment Number column enter your Roll No. in the Course/Branch you are enrolled to.
  • In the Enrolment Date column enter the Date of Admission in the First year of your enrolled Course/Branch.
  • In the Admission Date for Which Year you are applying for Scholarship, column enter the Date of Admission/Re-admission in the Current year of your enrolled Course/Branch. (only in case of Students of First year this date will be same as Enrolment date)

Q5. How can I forward the Application to the Institute?
A: After completion of entry and final edit(if any), click on “Edit-Lock-Print” option, then on “Lock” to forward the application to the Institute.

Q6. Should I apply again for renewal of Scholarship (Registered Applicants)?
A: From this Academic year renewal of Scholarship will be done by Institute. You just have to inform Institute about your “Adhar Card Number”, “Caste certificate issuing authority” to be entered in application details. Any change in Mobile number, Address for Correspondence, Bank Account details has to be communicated to the Institute.
 
Q7. How can I apply for Scholarship, if I haven’t availed it in the first year of the course?
A: Online fresh application submission is possible only for 1st year students. Take out a printout of the Scholarship Application form, after downloading from “Download” option of Home page. Fill it up and submit it to Institute with all the requisite documents. Institute is to be requested to register and submit scholarship application on your behalf. You should keep record of the “Applicant Id” and “Password” from the Institute, so that you can be able to modify details and track the status of the application.
 
Q8. What happens, if I detect mistakes after forwarding the applications to the institutes?
A: You should separately inform the mistakes detected by you to the Scholarship Nodal Officer of your Institute. The software provides facility at the level of the institute to correct information provided by the applicant.
 
Q9. How can I edit the entries, which are not editable at Institute level?
A: If you have to edit certain entries like Institute Name, Course & Branch, annual Income etc. , which are not editable at Institute level, you should request the Scholarship Nodal Officer of your Institute to “temporarily Reject” your application, mentioning the mistakes detected by you to. The Application will then be made available at Applicant level, by the software. You can then log-in using provided User-id & password and edit the required details. After editing lock the application again so that it will be forwarded to the Institute.
 
Q10. What should I do, if I do not find my institute name in the drop-down menu?
A: You should immediately approach the institute to contact with the District Welfare Officer (DWO) of the District where the institute is located. If your institute is an eligible institution, the DWO would enter it into the database and then you can apply.
 
Q11. What if I forget my Applicant ID/ Password?
A: You can recover your Applicant ID/ Password by clicking on “Registered students: Recover your password” from the Registered Student Log-in box. You have to fill up details like First Name, Date of Birth, Mobile Number and e-mail Id, as you have entered in the application while generating the initial password. Application will regenerate the Password and SMS would be sent to your contact Mobile Number. 

Q12. Can I take print-out of my application at any stage?
A: Yes. Printout of application can be taken at any stage. The finally locked application will have the “Barcode”, which is to be submitted at the Institute. 

Q13. Whether I have to scan the certificates and upload in the system before forwarding the online application to the institute?
A: Yes. The system has the facility of uploading the scanned copy of the Certificates, like Caste Certificate, Income Certificate, High School Certificate and Handicap Certificate (if any).
 
Q14. What is to be done after submitting the online application?
A: After locking and forwarding the application online to the institute, you should take a print out of the application (this would come with a barcode), sign it and submit it at the Institute with requisite documents.

Q15. What all documents I have to submit with the print out of the application?
A: You have to submit Original Caste Certificate, Original Income Certificate, Copy of High School Certificate, Copy of first page of Bank Passbook (showing IFSC Code of the Bank & Bank Account Number) and Handicap Certificate (if any) along with the print out of the Application. Institute would verify the original certificates & return back to the students.

Q16. How to check the status of my application?
A: You can check the status of your application anytime. After logging in, click on “ Edit-Lock-Print Application” . Then select “Track Status” option. This will provide you current / latest status of your Scholarship Application.

Q17. What should I do, if, by mistake, I select and forward my application to a wrong institute?
A: You can approach DWO of your district to request the Institute to “Temporarily Reject” your application. On Temporary rejection, the application will be made available to you for editing purpose. You can make correct selection of  Institute. Then select the Course and Branch. Lock the application, which will forward the application to your Institute.

Q18. What should I do, if, by mistake, I select a wrong Category and apply for a wrong Scheme ?
A: You can make fresh registration, by entering the correct category and apply for scholarship of that Scheme. Institute is to be informed about the error, so that there will be Permanent rejection of your wrong application.
 
Q19. How can I apply for scholarship, if  I am a student of Institute, located outside Odisha?
A: Download the Application form from “Download” option of the Scholarship Portal. Fill it up and submit the filled up application at the Institute, with all the documents mentioned in the application form. Institute has to be informed to send the application, duly forwarded by the Institute, to District Welfare Officer(DWO) of the native District of the Student.
