About The Program

Plural Plus Youth Video Festival 2017 is a video making competition in which individual or a group can participate by making a video of 5 minutes or less including title and end credits. The video should be submitted as a file. The video must have English subtitles if not in English language. Video must not contain vulgarity, violence, defamatory language, etc. Videos must be on the topic like migration, diversity, social inclusion showing their own thoughts, experiences, opinions, questions and suggestions. Videos can be of any type, style or genre as animated, documentary, drama, music video, comedy etc. The makers will continue to own the rights of their videos, but also they agree that PLURAL+ and its partners can use the video in all formats and platforms.

  • Less than 25 years of age at the time of submission
  • Candidates may make a video as a team but all the members of the team must be 25 years of age or more
  • For the group entries, video the will be judged in the age category who has a primary role in the creation of the video.
How can you apply?

The application can be done online only with the following steps:

Step 1: Register yourself using your email id.

Step 2: Now fill the entry form.

Step 3: Upload your video, it must be maximum of 5 minutes.

Step 4: There must be a date of completion of the video.

Step 5: Write a short note describing the video.

Step 6: Provide the names and details of the video who helps in making the video.

Step 7: Write your contact address.

Step 8: Check the boxes to agree to the terms and condition.

Step 9: Now submit your entry form.

Q. What is the goal of the PLURAL+ Video Festival?

The PLURAL+ Video Festival is an empowering tool for young people to speak out about what they think of migration, diversity and social inclusion, using their own views and voices. The PLURAL+ Video Festival gives youth a platform to say what they think and to make themselves heard by people from all over the world.

Q. Who is an entrant?
A.
The entrant is the person responsible for submitting the video to the PLURAL+ Youth Video Festival. The entrant should be a person actively involved in the making of the video.

Q. Who can enter the Video Festival?
A.
The PLURAL+ Video Festival is for youth. Anyone can enter the Video Festival as long as they are maximum of 25 years old at the time of production of the video.

Q. What is the entry deadline?
A.
All entries must be received by Midnight (New York City Time, GMT -5hours) on June 4, 2017. Any videos received after this time will not be considered for the PLURAL+ 2017 Youth Video Festival.

Q. What should my video be about?
A.
Your video should be about migration, diversity and social inclusion – three things that are very important in our globalizing world. The PLURAL+ Video Festival wants you to tell us what you think about things like migrant integration, inclusiveness, identity, diversity, human rights, xenophobia, and social unity.

Q. Is there a specific way that my video should look?
A.
No! PLURAL+ encourages creativity in submissions for the Video Festival. Your video can be done in any style or genre – animation, documentary, drama, music video, comedy etc. – whatever you decide best represents what you think about migration, diversity and social inclusion.

Q. How long should the video be?
A.
Videos must be between 1 and 5 minutes long, including title and end credits. Any submissions falling outside of this time restraint will not be considered.

Q. What should the video’s format be?
A.
Preferably all videos should be submitted as a file through a file hosting website of choice (see Rules and Regulations).

Q. What language should my video be in?
A.
Your video can be in whatever language you want, however if the language of your video is not English then you must have English subtitles.
