If you are successful and receive an offer from your department you will then also receive an offer from a college, unless your place is on a non-matriculated course for which a college offer is not required.
The timetable for admissions decisions for 2016-17 entry is as follows:
Application deadline | 1 | 2 | 3 |
Date | Friday 20 November 2015 | Friday 8 January or 22 January 2016 | Friday 11 March 2016 |
Notification of application outcome from department | Within 8 to 10 weeks of the deadline | ||
Expected notification of college placement | Around 8 to 10 weeks following the departmental decision |
Please note that this timetable is for guidance only. Notifications may take longer in some cases, and occasionally applicants may hear from the department or college before the times given above.
There is no formal decision-making timetable for applications submitted after the March deadline, where courses remain open beyond standard deadlines, though you may still expect to be notified by the department of their decision within six to eight weeks of completing your application during this period.
All decisions are communicated in writing from the department or college, usually by e-mail; please note that Graduate Admissions and Funding is not permitted to disclose the outcome of your application.
Only applicants who receive a formal offer from the department will proceed to college placement.
