About The Program

The Directorate of Higher Education, Government of Tripura announces NEC Merit Scholarship, Tripura 2018 for students of Professional / Technical /Management / M.Phil / PhD courses. The scholarship aims at providing financial aid to students of North Eastern Region undergoing studies in various disciplines at a recognized institution within or outside North-East, but within the country.

 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Be a permanent resident of Tripura.
  • Have scored at least 70% marks (for general) and 60% marks (for SC and ST candidates) in the last qualifying examination for diploma/degree/PG/M.Phil and PhD courses.
  • Have annual family income less than INR 4.5 Lac from all sources. 
  • Not be in receipt of any other financial assistance from other sources.

 

How can you apply?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Online application
Step 1: Register through National Scholarship Portal.
Step 2: Fill in all required details.
Step 3: Upload necessary supporting documents. 
Step 4: Finally submit the duly filled application form. 
Offline application
Step 1: Download the application form from here. 
Step 2: Fill in all required details with a black coloured ink pen. 
Step 3: Attach all required documents. 
Step 4: Send duly filled application form along with the documents to Directorate of Higher Education by post.

Award Details

The selected students will receive stipend under this scheme as per the rates given below - 

  • For diploma level course - INR 20,000 per annum. 
  • For degree level course - INR 22,000 per annum. 
  • For PG courses - INR 25,000 per annum. 
  • For M.Phil/PhD - INR 30,000 per annum.

Documents required

  • Permanent residence certificate
  • Recommendation by the Head of Institution
  • Undertaking for not availing any other scholarship 
  • Marksheets of qualifying examination
  • Category certificate (if applicable)
  • Copy of Aadhar Card/first page of bank passbook/PAN card/Email id/Ration Card/Birth Certificate etc.
