About The Program

Nalanda Need cum Merit Scholarship 2017-18 invites application from graduate students who have taken admission in Nalanda University. The objective of this program is to provide financial assistance to meritorious students for further studies. The selected students will receive up to 100% tuition fee and residence charges.

  • Applicants should have a graduation degree
  • Must have secured 55% marks from any Indian University recognized by UGC/AICTE

(Scholarship is applicable for applicants who have an offer of admission)

  • Masters Programme in the School of Historical Studies: M.A. degree in global and comparative history
  • Masters Programmes in the School of Ecology and Environment Studies: M.A. and M.Sc. degree based on the student's graduation degree
  • Masters Programme in the School of Buddhist Studies, Philosophy, and Comparative Religions: M.A. degree in studies of Buddhist and other religious traditions

Q: Which Schools at Nalanda are offering admissions for 2017-18?
A: 
For the Academic year 2017-18, Admissions are offered in three Schools:

  • School of Historical Studies (SHS)
  • School of Ecology and Environment Studies (SE&ES)
  • School of Buddhist Studies, Comparative Religion, and Philosophy

Q: When will the other Schools begin their operations?
A: 
The School of Buddhist Studies, Comparative Religion, and Philosophy will be operational from session 2016 and other proposed schools will begin their operations in a phased manner in next few years. There will be an advanced notification for the opening of each forthcoming school.

Q: In case an offer is made, do I have to pay anything at the time of confirmation of admission?
A: 
The admission fees of 6000 (INR) or 100 USD has to be paid while confirming the admission. This fee is nonrefundable.

Q: Does Nalanda University offer financial aid to prospective students?
A:
Only those students to whom an offer of admission is finally made will be considered for financial aid. There are two kinds of financial Aids i.e. work study and tuition fee waiver.
