What is MIF Research Fellowship Programs 2019?

MIF Research Fellowship Program 2019 invites applications from PhD holders.The main objective of the scholarship is to work upon its concept "Towards A Greater Understanding of Japan and a Lasting World Peace". 

Who is offering this scholarship ?

The scholarship is provided by Matsumae International Foundation.  

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

  • Applicant must hold a PhD (Doctorate) or equivalent.
  • Applicant must obtain a Letter of Invitation from the host institutions in Japan.
  • Applicants must be 49 years old or younger at the time of application.
  • Applicant must have proficiency in English or Japanese language. 
  • Applicant should be employed in his/her home country and must return to his/her country upon completion of the fellowship tenure.
  • Applicant must have a good health condition. 
  • Applicant must not have stayed in Japan earlier.

What are the benefits ?

MIF Research Fellowship Programs 2019 provides YEN 220,000 per month as research and stay allowance, overseas travel accident/sickness Insurance, air transportation, start-up fund of YEN 120,000 upon arrival. 

Terms and Conditions

  • Fields of research include natural science, engineering and medicine are considered with first priorities.
  • Fellowship Period: 3 to 6 months, between April 2019 and March 2020

 

What are the documents required for the MIF Research Fellowship Programs 2019 ?

  • Application Form 
  • Research Project including purpose, methodology, a content of the research, and the roadmap of the project. This research project must be made based upon discussions with the host professor/scholar.
  • Copy of major publication by the applicant.
  • Curriculum Vitae
  • Letter of recommendation by the applicant’s employer testifying to academic ability.
  • Copies of all the academic certificates/diplomas.
  • Letter of invitation signed by the professor/scholar-in-charge at the host institution
