What is Metropolitan Scholarship 2017?

The applications are invited for Metropolitan Scholarship 2017 to support applicants who hold a good degree or diploma and must have age below 30 years by 1st July 2017. The objective of this scholarship is to provide the opportunity to young people with exceptional talent in any field to broaden their vision abroad and improve their skills to operate in Service Industry, thus making them a future vehicle of change in their environment.

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

  • Open to all Indian citizens of either sex who hold a good degree/diploma from a recognized university and are resident in India at the time of application
  • It is essential to have prior admission to the institution and Programme chosen
  • Age must be below 30 years on 1st July 2017

How can you apply ?

The application can be done by email with the following steps:
Step 1:
Download the application form or can be obtained by writing to Metropolitan Group of Institutes, Mumbai Office: F.M.House, Plot No.20, 2nd Flr, Vallabhbhai Road, Vile Parle (W), Mumbai 400 056. Pune: Mittal Court, 'B' Wing, Office No.19, Ground Floor, Rasta Peth, Pune 411011 with a self-addressed empty envelope with INR 6 stamp.
Step 2: Fill the application form (it should be preferably handwritten).

Q: What is the age limit for the scholarship abroad?

Applicants must be below 30 years of age on the first of July in the year of application.

Q: How can one collect the application form?

Q: What is the last date of collection and submission of application forms?
A: 
The last date of collection and submission of application forms is June 15th every year.

Q: Are only typed application forms to be submitted or they can be handwritten also. Can one apply online also?
A:
The application form should be preferably handwritten currently there is no provision for submission of online applications.

Q: Which universities/institutions are covered by the Metropolitan scholarships?
A:
All Top American, European, Australia and UK institutions are covered by the Metropolitan scholarships abroad. In addition, the Foundation is open to any kind of special projects outside the traditional University set up.

Q: Is the scholarship applicable for Undergraduate courses also?
A:
The applicants are expected to have finished their 10th, 12th or Graduation before applying for the scholarships. Most Metropolitan awardees take up graduate studies abroad. Metropolitan has no bar on the kind or level of degree a candidate wishes to pursue.

Terms and Conditions

Selection procedure:

  • Shortlisted applicants are required to attend the personal interviews.
  • There are no provisions for interviews through telephone or video-conference. If the shortlisted applicant is not able to attend the interview, his/her case may be considered in absentia, in exceptional cases.

At the time of final interview documents are required:

  • Photocopy of undergraduate degree and any later degree 
  • A copy of admission letter (by MET's Colleges)
  • Statement of Fees 
  • Any fee concession/waiver of any other source of funding

Note:

  • The duration of the scholarship is up to 2/3 years.
  • It covers the period granted tuition fees, adequate living expenses, and one-way travel.
  • In the case of specific programs, the financial coverage will be discussed directly with the applicant. Those opting for courses lasting for more than 2 years (i.e. MBA & 3-year degree) will have to seek to fund from other sources. Acceptance of other scholarships, teaching assistantships, and part-time jobs are welcome after approval from the Trust.
  • The scholarship will not be awarded to candidates whose proposed course of study or specific project requires field trips back to India during tenure.
  • Scholarships are awarded in June generally, however, proposals as excepted round the year.
