About The Program

Department for the Welfare of SC/ST/OBC, Government of NCT of Delhi introduces the Merit Scholarship for SC/ST/OBC/Minority students, Delhi 2018 for students studying in any graduate or postgraduate courses. The purpose of this scheme is to provide financial support to the students belonging to these categories in pursuing higher education.

In order to be eligible, an applicant must:

  • Belongs to SC/ST/OBC/minority category and domicile of Delhi.
  • Be studying in diploma, degree and postgraduate courses from any recognised college/institutions.
  • Have annual family income up to INR 200000 lakh for OBC and minority. Note: For SC/ST students, there will not be any income criteria.
  • Have scored 60 percent or more percentage of marks in the previous examination.

Note: The student belonging to minority community should be resident of Delhi for the past three years.

In order to apply, follow the steps given below:
Step 1: Click here to register.
Step 2: Enter the document type and number to register. 
Step 3: Login with the username and password generated after registration.
Step 4: Fill in all the details.
Step 5: Upload the documents required.
Step 6: Submit the application.

Documents required:

  • The applicants belonging to minority category will have to upload the documents mentioned below:
    • Aadhaar Number, EPIC card, Landline telephone bill of MTNL, Ration Card, Driving License issued by GNCTD and Domicile Certificate issued by SDM in Delhi or passbook of the nationalized bank.
    • A declaration by guardian/parent that the applicant belongs to a particular minority community in a prescribed format.
  • The applicants belonging to SC/ST/OBC will have to upload caste certificate or domicile certificate in case of not having caste certificate.

Note: The applicants having a gap of three years will have to upload affidavit on the portal.

Award details:

  • The scholarship amount will vary with the level of education.
  • The amount will vary from INR 420 pm to INR 1620 pm as per the level of education.
