What is Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship 2017?

The objective of the Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship is to encourage promising young artists to develop their potential and excel in their skills by providing them the resources and time. The Fellowship is receptive to Indian Nationals from any genre of Indian classical music (Vocal or Instrumental) or Dance (any type or choreography). The fellow would be needed to possess a minimum of 2-3 solo performances to his/her credit. The period of the Fellowship is 10 months where a grant of Rs. 1,00,000 is given in 2 installments. Interested candidates can apply through the post before the deadline of 31st December 2016.

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

Applicants must have:-

  • an interest of any type of Indian Classical Music (Vocal or Instrumental) or Dance (any form or choreography).
  • a few years of formal training in Indian traditional Music or Dance.
  • be required to have no less than 2-3 solo performances in his/her credit.

How can you apply ?

The application is processed in following steps:-

Step 1: Participants should send a 2 – page resume, a CD of their recitals.

Step 2:Write up of approx 500 words deducing their project. The project proposal should deduce how the fellowship will provide a chance to express their creativity and technical competence and expand the repertoire of their style.

Step 3:Full postal and telephonic contact points of interest together with any E-mail id ought to be submitted to facilitate contact.

Step 4:Few samples of past work, venture or performance must be submitted. The names and contact addresses/phones of two officials must be sent.

Step 5:The application should bear the title ‘Sanskriti – Madhobi Chatterji Memorial Fellowship’ on the envelope when sent by post to  Anandagram, Mehrauli Gurgaon Road, New Delhi - 110047 (Opposite Metro Pillar No. 165)

Terms and Conditions

Terms of the fellowship:-

  • The applicant will be signing an agreement with Sanskriti Pratishthan pertaining to a regular flow of work during the Fellowship period.
  • The candidate should not be holding another Fellowship or working on any other project at the same time.
