KSCSTE Emeritus Scientist Scheme (KESS) 2023-24 is an initiative for Scientists/Academicians of Kerala. The programme helps to provide an opportunity for superannuated outstanding scientists to pursue research in their respective fields of specialization and to harness their knowledge for the development of the state. The selected fellows will receive a stipend of INR 31,000 per month and an annual contingent grant of INR 1,00,000.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility To be eligible, an applicant must -
- be a domicile of Kerala
- be not more than 65 years as of 1st January of 2023
- be a retired scientist/academician in Kerala by birth or domicile
- have worked as a scientist/academician in reputed institutions with commendable scientific achievements

Benefits The selected fellows will receive a stipend of INR 31,000 per month and an annual contingent grant of INR 1,00,000.
Note - The fellowship will be given for a period not exceeding three years.

How can you apply? Eligible candidates can apply for the opportunity by following the below-mentioned steps:

Step 4: Fill in the required details to 'Register'.

Selection Criteria
The selection of the candidates will be based on eligibility criteria. The final selection will be done by the expert committee after evaluation.

Terms and Conditions
- The Emeritus Scientist has to help students, Research Fellows, staff, etc. of the Department/ Institution in the concerned subject in accordance with the instructions of the Head of the Institution.
- The amount should be drawn by the Institution and released to the Emeritus Scientist only by means of a cheque.
- The Emeritus Scientist programme will be purely on a contract basis and will not be eligible for any other benefits.
- A Research Fellow can be appointed to support research activity.
