Dibrugarh University, the easternmost University of India was set up in 1965 under the provisions of the Dibrugarh University Act, 1965 enacted by the Assam Legislative Assembly. It is a teaching-cum-affiliating University with limited residential facilities. The University is situated at Rajabheta, five kilometres to the south of the premier town of Dibrugarh in the northeast India. Dibrugarh, which is one of the commercial and industrial hubs of the northeastern region, also occupies a unique place in the field of Art, Literature and Culture. Dibrugarh district known internationally as a rich tea producing district is also known for its rich reserve of minerals like coal, oil and natural gas. Its diverse flora and fauna makes it an exciting region from the point of view of environment and ecology. The various tribes which inhabits this district presents a polychromatic ethnic mosaic and makes it a very attractive destination for researchers from all over the globe. The Dibrugarh University Campus is well connected by roads, rails, air and waterways. The National Highway No.37 passes through the University Campus. The territorial jurisdiction of Dibrugarh University covers seven districts of Upper Assam, viz, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Sivasagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Dhemaji and Lakhimpur. The University Campus extends over an area of more than 500 acres. The University is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with an institutional score of 71% (B grade). The Re-accreditation has been done in March 2009. Dibrugarh University is a member of the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) and recognised by all Universities in India and abroad on reciprocal basis.
Applications in prescribed forms are invited from the eligible candidates for admission into the BA-LLB and LLM Programmes conducted by Centre for Juridical Studies (CJS), Dibrugarh University for the session 2016-17.
Five Year Integrated BA-LLB (Hons): A candidates for admission to the Five-Year BA.LLB (Hons) course shall have passed Higher Secondary Examination (10+2) or an equivalent examination securing at least 45% in aggregate of the total marks.
Provided that there shall be a relaxation of 5% marks for SC/ST/OBC candidates.
LL.M Program: A candidate to take admission into LLM course must have 50% marks in aggregate in 3 year LLB or 5 year BA-LLB (Hons) Course recognized by University Grants Commission and Bar Council of India (BCI).
The candidates appearing in final year examination of the aforesaid Programmes may also apply but at the time of admission they must produce the mark sheet and certificate in original.
Please download the Application Form along with the Copy of the prescribed Bank Challan, which shall be available in the Dibrugarh University website www.dibru.ac.in from 27th May 2016 and fill up with all details carefully
Deposit Rs.500/- as the Application Fee at any branch of the Punjab National Bank or State Bank of India using the prescribed Bank Challan available with the Application Form. Candidates willing to deposit the Fee at any Branch of the State Bank of India shall have to pay an additional amount of Rs.60/- as bank charge, which is not required if the Fee is deposited at any Branch of the Punjab National Bank
Submit the duly filled in Application Form accompanied by self-attested copies of all relevant documents along with the University Copy of Fee Deposit Receipt at the Centre for Juridical Studies, Dibrugarh University on or before 23rd June 2016
Please collect it again from the Office of the Centre after issuance of a Test Roll No. by the University
