About The Program

The Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur invites applications for Post Doctoral Fellowship 2018 from students having PhD degree with an excellent academic record. The key objective of the fellowship is to provide an opportunity for competent researchers to carry out independent research work in the advanced fields of science and technology. 

EligibilityDeadline Date: Closed

To be eligible for the fellowship, an applicant must -

  • Hold a PhD degree with an outstanding academic record. 
  • Have published research papers/patents to his/her credit. 
  • Be below 35 years of age. (Note: For persons belonging to AICTE/UGC recognized teaching institutions or sponsored by DSIR-recognized industrial organization, the upper age limit should be 45 years).

Eligible candidates can apply for the fellowship online through following steps -

Step 2: Login using registered email id and password. 
Step 3: Fill in all required details. 
Step 4: Finally submit the application form. 
Step 5: Also, send the printed application form along with supporting documents by post to -

Fellowship Details

The fellowship is tenable for three years that covers -

  • Monthly fellowship at a fixed rate depending on the experience of the candidate. 
  • Accommodation subject to the availability. (If accommodation is not available, the fellows will receive HRA as per the approved rates). 
  • Daily allowance for conference period as per applicable rates per day. 
  • A contingency grant of INR 25,000 per annum.
