Under the initiative of Department of Health Research, for promotion of research activities in the north east region, research proposals are invited by ICMR from young and middle level faculties of medical colleges, universities and research institutions of north east states. Seed Grant of upto Rs. 20,00,000 (Rs. 20 lacs) will be provided to the researchers if the project proposal is found suitable for consideration by the committee reviewing these proposals. Interested applicants may submit online concept proposal following revised procedure for extramural research programmes of ICMR guidelines in area of local (regional) and national health priorities in any discipline of health sciences, basic, clinical or operational research in areas of maternal and child health, nutrition, communicable and non communicable diseases.
Young and middle level faculty of the medical colleges, postgraduate institutions, universities, recognized research institute and development laboratories and NGOs. (Applications from non-governmental agencies should provide documentary evidence of registration(Registered with the Department of Scientific and Industrial Research (DSIR), Govt. of India
Initially concept proposal should be submitted online following ICMR guidelines: www.icmr.nic.in . To submit a proposal online, please follow the following steps:
1. Go to ICMR website www.icmr.nic.in
2. Go to online submission of extramural research proposal
3. Click on new user for registering yourself as project investigator(PI). PI already registered need not register again
4. Using the user ID and password begin submission of proposal by clicking on advertisement
5. Enter title of the call: Call for proposal under North East Seed Grant scheme
6. Click on broad are as RCH, select North East Seed Grant scheme as discipline
7. Call start date: 21st September 2015
8. Call end date: 5th November 2015
9. Major discipline: North East Seed Grant scheme
10. Select programme officer : Dr. Reeta Rasaily,
The following criteria will be used to evaluate the concept proposals
1. Novelty, applicability and Justification for research
2. Work carried out by PI/ institution till now/ competence
3. Work proposed to be carried out in next 3 years
4. Infrastructure, staff available, grants received till now, publication if any in the area of proposed research
5. Budget requirement
