Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) in partnership with Govt. of AP has announced Grand Challenge Research Award 2018 for researchers. The challenge has been introduced for root-causing the etiology of a high incidence of CKDu including compilations of interventions for general improvement of health conditions in the area of high incidence.

DeadlineClosed Eligibility - Institution must be registered as a University/Society/Trust/NGO/Company/LLP (Limited liability partnership firm) as individual participant or a group of individuals are not eligible to participate
- Participant must have at least 5 years of experience in public health research and must have completed minimum 3 health research projects, one of which should necessarily be in the area of Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs).
- The lead applicant must have a minimum of 5 publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals including published work in the area of CKD
- Participant black-listed by Central/State Government/agency/organization/consortium) are not eligible to apply.
- The applicant/Agency/Organisation/Consortium must have a financial turn-over of INR. 3.00 Crore in each of previous three financial years.

Terms and Conditions
Selection of Awardee:
- Only one awardee would be selected Under this Grand Challenge Applications of only those that qualify the eligibility criteria shall be evaluated for final selection.
- The selection would carry the following weightage:
- 40% for the methodology proposed
- 30% for the profile and number of research associates proposed by the applicant institute/organization for the project.
- 30% for the cost of research project quoted by the applicant institute/organization
Document Required:
- Status of the Firm/Registration certificate/ Memorandum of association
- Income Tax Return of past three financial years; service tax (where applicable) for past three financial years.
- Balance sheet of past three financial years
- Project Details of work executed in past five years
- Letters from organizations on behalf of whom, a minimum of three health research projects have been executed with completion
- Publications in peer-reviewed indexed journals.
- Self-declaration on institutional letterhead for non-blacklisting
- Research Protocol as available at ICMR website (www.icmr.nic.in) for Ad-Hoc Research Format.
