Global Challenges Fellowship 2017-18 objective is to encourage researchers and practitioners to the school of Public Policy at Central European University in Budapest, Hungary. The program supports up to 2 junior and 2 senior fellows per year. During fellowship, they publish journal articles or policy papers and participate in a series of small working group style discussions and seminars. 2500 euros, housing allowance and travel grants will be awarded to the senior and 1500 euros to the junior fellows. Fellows’ work is within one of the following focal research fields:
Development and governance
Internet Governance
Changing global institutions

DeadlineClosed Eligibility - Candidates from India are eligible to apply.
- Candidates must have a master's or PhD degree in the social science, humanities or law.
- Candidates must have atleast 3 years of experience at the time of application. Candidates who have at least 15 years of policy making experience or 7 years of experience since earning their PhD will be considered for the senior fellowship and other will be for the junior fellowship. Indicate and give proof of request to be considered for a senior fellowship in your cover letter.
- Candidates must have fluently in english.
How can you apply? Application can be done online with following steps:
Step 1: First register.
Step 2: After registration, the password will be sent. Now by using that password to complete the application form and upload the required documents in PDF format to the link.
Step 3: Documents attached with the application form:- Short description of your research or policy project and the result product you wish to achieve during fellowship like policy paper, book chapter (maximum 1,000 words, not including references).
- CV which has educational history, relevant work experience and major publications format.
- Cover letter which describes the following:
- What you hope to gain from this scholarship.
- Your experience in policy making and policy research which is relevant for the fellowship
- How your proposed project fits with your policy making career goals (maximum 1,000 words).
For junior candidates only- the name and email address of a referee.

Selection procedure:
- Fellows will be selected by a selection committee with representatives from the three program partners. This will include interview of shortlisted applicants. The committee will consider firstly the quality of the research proposal, publication record, research agenda, relevance and feasibility of the proposed project, record of policy engagement and proficiency in the english language.
- Candiates will be notified when their applications have been received and the evaluation process will be completed. The committee will not share reviews with candidates.
