Total Value of Skills Scholarships to be awarded
There is a maximum scholarship pool of NZ$104,000 (approximately 4.5 million rupees) available for suitably qualified and experienced students.
Ten skills scholarships will be offered, relating to specific disciplines aligned to Christchurch skills shortage areas such as Construction, Engineering, ICT and Science.
The Christchurch Mayoral Scholarships (2 X $12,000 each) are presented by Mayor Lianne Dalziel to two students who display outstanding merit in their qualifications and professional fields.
In addition, there are a further eight $10,000 Christchurch Educated Skills Scholarships available for students who demonstrate exemplary standards in their qualifications.
The scholarships will be offered over 2 intakes for students starting in semester 1 and semester 2 2016.
Successful applicants must be able to prove that they are able to meet all costs over and above the amount of the scholarship awarded, including remaining tuition and all living costs for the period of study. Details

Selection Process
Scholarship applications are to be made directly the student’s chosen institution at the same time as applying for their preferred course. Each institution will select its top applicants to forward on to an
independent selection board. The selection board is comprised of a representative each from Canterbury Development Corporation, Christchurch Educated and Education New Zealand.
