About The Program

CBSE Cryptic Crossword Contest 2017 is a national level crossword solving contest being conducted in two stages. The first round is a preliminary CITY ROUND and will be held across 39 cities and towns. The winners will be eligible to sit for the next round i.e GRAND FINALE round which will be held at the New Delhi in the year-end.

Step 4: Fill all the mandatory field.

Terms and Conditions

Phase 1:

  1. It is sixty minutes written test.
  2. The participating schools can send a team of two students only.
  3. On-the-spot registration for City Round begins at 10 am which goes on till 11 am. The written test duration is from 11 am to 12 noon.
  4. Evaluation, announcement of result and prize distribution will be held on the same day.
  5. Schools have to register online on www.crypticsingh.com before the test date of their City Round.
  6. The team has to be accompanied by a teacher in-charge.

Phase 2:

  1. In November-December, the winning team will be invited for the three-day Grand Finale Round.
  2. It comprises a written quarter-final, four onstage semi-finals and the onstage final.

Prizes and Certificates:

  1. National winners: Rs 25,000 to the team; National Crossword Champion trophy; and certificates
  2. Runners-up: Rs 15,000 to the team; trophies; and certificates
  3. 2nd Runners-up: Rs 10,000 to the team; trophies; and certificates
  4. City Round winners receive trophies, certificates and free trip and stay in New Delhi during the Grand Finale
  5. All participants, both at the City Round and Grand Finale levels, receive certificates.
  6. REIMBURSEMENTS

Note: The applicants outside the National Capital Region (NCR) will be reimbursed to and fro Sleeper class train fare. Lodging fooding and local transport to the venue and back will be provided. The same is applicable for teachers in-charge.
