Azim Premji Foundation Fellowship is a two-year duration programme aims to give an educational and social sector experience to a diverse range people from a variety of backgrounds. Applicants should have a work experience of 3 to 10 years.
In these two years, fellows teach at government schools in the rural district of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Puducherry, Rajasthan Uttarakhand, and Telangana, and they participate in the District Institute activities in order to kindle, create and fabricate occupant's points of view.
Online test for the selection of fellows will be based on reasoning, analytical ability and reading comprehensive. The pattern of questions will be MCQ and descriptive type. After clearing the test applicants have to take two rounds of interviews.

Q. What will I do during the 2 years of fellowship?
A. During the first year, you would be introduced to the education sector and our work in the field locations. This will be enabled by the teaching experiences you undertake in government schools and through interaction with the local community.
In your second year, you gain specific exposure to identified area of your contribution. This could be through active involvement in the activities and programmes in that area enabling you to develop understanding and deeper ability in that identified role.
Q. What kinds of work areas are available during the Fellowship program?
A. The Fellows at the Field Institute would build their experience teaching in government schools, immersion in education to develop/ build their perspective along with participation in Field Institute activities to understand the various roles.

Q. Do I need to have any social sector experience to apply?
A. No, social sector experience is not mandatory. However, a deep interest or social conscience for any issues faced in today’s context will be an advantage. We are inviting people who have a passion for catalyzing social change
Q. Where will I live and work?
A. Your location of work will be in one of the blocks of the District Institute and the same will be communicated to you closer to the date of your joining.
Q. Since I will be working in rural India, do I need to know the local language?
A. Yes, it is very important to be able to read and write in the local language. For example if you are posted to Sirohi District Institute, you need to be able to read and write in Hindi
Q. What support will i receive during the programme?
A. Each Fellow will have mentors assigned to him / her during the Fellowship period. Fellows will receive continuous support from these mentors and from the Fellowship Team.
Q. What opportunities will be available after I complete the programme?
A. There will be opportunities to work with Azim Premji Foundation after the successful completion of two year programme.
Q. Will I receive a stipend?
A. Yes. A monthly stipend of Rs. 28,800- per month (all inclusive) will be offered.
On the successful completion of the programme, you may be offered employment opportunities in the Foundation, at an appropriate compensation package in line with the Foundation’s practice.
Q. Will there be training before I start work in rural India?

Q. Where will the training take place?
A. The initial 2 weeks induction would be in Bengaluru. The subsequent sessions and the field posting would be in the District Institutes.
Q. Will you provide accommodation during the training period?
A. Accommodation would be provided for the initial 2 weeks of induction at Bengaluru.
Q. Can I leave the Fellowship in-between the 2 year program?
A. In case you wish to discontinue, you can leave the Fellowship program after completing the 1st year or after completing the 2nd year The Fellow can leave in-between also after serving the appropriate notice period.
Q. Am I entitled for any leave during the Fellowship period?
A. Fellows are entitled to 12 days leave per year on a pro-rata basis, and this will accrue @ 1 day per month at the end of each month.
Q. How many days do I need to work in a week?
A. District Institutes work Monday to Saturday, the timings and date also varies across locations.
Q. Do fellows receive a certificate or acknowledgment after completing the Fellowship?
A. Yes, upon completing either 1 year or the full 2 years of Fellowship Programme successfully the Fellows would receive a certificate.

Q. What is the selection process like?
A. After submitting the online application, shortlisted candidates will go through an online test which will be a combination of multiple choice and descriptive questions. The test will have sections that examine candidates on social/general awareness, logical reasoning, analytical ability and reading comprehension. , Candidates who pass the written test will go through two rounds of interviews and an offer will be made to selected candidates.
Q. What to expect in test and interview?
A. Stage 1: Online Assessment
Online Assessment / Test will cover aspects of Socio-Economic Geographical & Political Understanding, Reading Comprehension, Descriptive Writing and Analytical Ability. The test pattern consists of Multiple Choice and Descriptive Questions.
Candidates shortlisted for test will be informed by email, along with the Admit Card
The results of the Online Assessment / Test will also be announced by email.
Stage 2: Personal Interviews
Applicants who clear the Online Assessment will be invited through email for a Personal Interview.
Candidates should be prepared to make a presentation to the interview panel for about 10-15 minutes on a given topic as a part of the Personal Interview.
