What is AICTE- Scholarships for Differently Able (DA) Students 2014?


  1. Scholarship Scheme for differently able students is an endeavour by AICTE to provide the financial assistance to the students who could not continue their higher studies due to lack of financial assistance. As supporting hand for these talents the Council has introduced the scheme “Scholarship to Differently- Able (DA) Child” to promote technical education (Engg., Architecture, Pharmacy, applied arts etc.) at Degree and Diploma levels to these students. The aim is to contribute towards the education of academically inclined DA students across India wanting to pursue technical education.


  1. The student should be an Indian citizen.
  2. The scholarship to students with disabilities will be awarded to under-graduate/ Diploma students of AICTE approved Technical Institutions/University departments imparting technical education.
  3. The applicant must not be receiving any other scholarship/ Tuition fee reimbursement from another organization.
  4. The applicant must not have been a previous recipient of DA scholarship from AICTE.
  5. Annual income of the parents from all the sources should be less than 6.0 Lakh.
  6. Only students admitted in first year of the academic year 2014-15

Who can apply for this scholarship ?

Duration of scholarship

  1. Four/ three years as the case may be for Degree/Diploma levels courses.

Application Process:

The duly filled in form complete in all respects along with scanned attested copies of the sertificates in pdf are required to be submitted as attachments on email form 27th September 2014 & on or before 30th October 2014.

Limit of scholarship

  1. Rs. 30000 or Tuition fee at actual, whichever is less for all years of program duration and Rs. 2000/months for 10 months in a year for all years of program.
  2. 1000 scholarships would be awarded to eligible candidates under this scheme per year.

Processing Methodology

  1. The state nodal agency may forward a proposal recommending a consolidated list of DA student for consideration based on the percentage of mark/rank scored at entry level qualifying exam.

Terms and Conditions

  1. Separate institutional overhead expenses shall not be provided by AICTE.
  2. During the year of scholarship the student should be a regular student.
  3. The scheme is not applicable for lateral/part time admitted students.
  4. The maximum duration of scholarship is 4 years.
  5. The scholarship shall be fortified in case the student leaves the Institution.
  6. Council has the right to cancel the scholarship grant without giving any prior notice, if any discrepancy is reported

Documents to be submitted

(a) Forwarding letter to the AICTE office

(b) List of candidate eligible for scholarship that shall include the following in tabulated form:-

  1. Name of the students
  2. Name and address of the institute admitted
  3. District and state
  4. Entrance examination passed
  5. Course admitted
  6. Year of admission
  7. Rank obtained
  8. Proof of admission to Ist year in the Institute.
  9. Adhar card linked Bank account of student with Mobile No., e.mail id, Bank account,IFSC code.
  10. A certificate from the Institute where student have taken admission to first year in prescribed format.
  11. An affidavit on Rs. 50/- stamp paper from the parent/student dually attested by the Gazetted officer in prescribed format.
  12. Attested photocopy of disabled certificate
