What is AICTE-Saksham Scholarship Scheme 2017-18?

The All India Council for Technical Education under MHRD scheme invites applications from students with disabilities who are entering into a diploma/degree level technical course at an AICTE approved institution for Saksham Scholarship 2017-18. A total of 1000 (500 for diploma and 500 for degree courses) scholarships are available under this scheme. 



Who can apply for this scholarship ?

To be eligible for the scholarship, an applicant must -

  • Be a differently abled student with disability level more than 40%. 
  • Have annual family income less than INR 8 Lacs from all sources. 
  • Be admitted in the first year of diploma/degree courses from an AICTE recognized institution. 


How can you apply ?

Eligible candidates can apply for the scholarship through following steps -
Step 1: Click here to register as a new user.  
Step 2: Once registered, the candidates will receive a confirmation link via email on their registered email ID. 
Step 3: Click on the email link to confirm registration. 
Step 4: Login again using registered email id and password. 
Step 5: Fill the online application form carefully. 
Step 6: Upload required documents in the prescribed format. 
Step 7: Finally submit the application form. 

Terms and Conditions

Award Details

The selected students will receive-

  • Tuition fee of INR 30000 or actual (whichever is less)
  • Incidental charges of INR 2000 per month for a duration of 10 months every year. 

Note: In the case of tuition fee reimbursement/waiver, the students will get INR 30000 for purchasing books, software, equipment, desktop, laptop, vehicle or fee for application of competitive examination. 

Documents Required

  • Class 10/12 mark sheet (as applicable) 
  • Income certificate of the family issued for the previous financial year by an official, not below the Tahsildar's rank in the prescribed format. 
  • Certificate of disability issued by a competent authority. 
  • Admission letter for getting admission in a degree/diploma course issued by the Directorate of Technical Education. 
  • Certificate issued by the Principal/Head/Director of the institute.
  • Receipt of tuition fee. 
  • Bank account passbook seeded with the Aadhar indicating candidate's photograph, account number and IFSC code. 
  • Caste certificate (applicable for SC, ST or OBC candidates). 
  • Aaadhar card
  • Duly signed declaration of confirming the accuracy of information provided in the application form. 

Note: All documents should be scanned and uploaded in png/pdf/jpg format in size specified in the application form. 


  • For SC candidates - 15%
  • For ST candidates - 7.5%
  • For OBC candidates - 27%
