One part of creating the best products is bringing a diverse group of people together. To bring more gender diversity to the technology industry, they are pleased to invite applications to the inaugural Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship. The Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship recognizes outstanding undergraduate female students anywhere in the world who are studying computer science.

In order to be eligible for the 2015 Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

1. Be a female student currently enrolled as an undergraduate student at a university for the 2015-2016 academic year.

2. Intend to be enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student at a university for the 2016-2017 academic year.

3. Be majoring in computer science, computer engineering, or a closely related technical field.

4. Not have a close relative working for Adobe Research.

Terms and Conditions

The Adobe Research Women-in-Technology Scholarship includes:

  1. A $10,000 award paid once with no strings attached.
  2. A Creative Cloud subscription membership for one year.
  3. An Adobe Research mentor.
  4. An internship opportunity at Adobe for the 2016 summer.
  5. Applications are due December 31st, 2015. A committee of Adobe researchers will review all applicants and choose up to ten recipients at their discretion. Recipients are selected based on their academic record, a personal statement, and three letters of reference. Students may be invited for phone interviews following the initial review.
  6. Scholarship recipients will be announced by February 28, 2016.

  1. Is there any limit to the number of applications that can come from a single university or department?
    None.
  2. Is the student obligated to accept the Adobe internship next summer?
    No.
  3. Is the $10,000 given to the student or to the university?
    The student.
  4. Will you send emails to letter providers, immediately after I submit the application?
    Yes.
  5. When is the deadline for letters of recommendation?
    To be completed your application must include all of your letters by January 8, 2016. It is up to you to followup with your letter writers to confirm that they have submitted them in time.
  6. Will I be able to update my scholarship application once I submit it through the portal?
    As of now, no.
  7. Do transcripts need to be official transcripts sign by the registrar?
    Transcripts that are directly available are fine.
  8. What instructions will you send my letter writers?
     In your recommendation letter, please answer the following questions.

How long have you known the applicant and how did you meet?
 Can you rank the applicant as belonging to the top 5, 10, or 20% of computer science undergraduates?
 Please assess the applicants:
- intellectual and analytic strength,
- technical skills,
- ability to think creatively,
- ambition and initiative,
- stamina and independence,
- and ability to work as part of a team.

    9.   Can masters students apply?

No. The scholarship is intended for undergraduate students.
