Known as the educational hub of the country, Karnataka is home to around 54,529 primary schools with 252,875 teachers and 8.495 million students. In the same way, there are 9,499 secondary schools with 92,287 teachers with 1.384 million students.
In Karnataka, there are 3 kinds of schools- first that are run by the government, second which are aided by the government and third is private. According to 2011 census, total literacy rate of the state was 75.36%.
To further improve the education sector in the state, the Karnataka government has launched a number of scholarships for the domicile students of the state. Students can check and apply for different scholarships according to their eligibility. Here, we have prepared a list of the top scholarships for students of Karnataka.
Students who are willing to pursue full-time Ph.D. program in the field of seminars, language, sociology, science and technology, agriculture and related sciences, commerce and management, technical and medical sciences, the Department of Backward Classes Welfare had introduced applications for Research Guidance for them.
This is an initiative by the Government of Karnataka to increase the interests of students in the field of research and related programs.
This initiative is introduced by the Government of the Karnataka to help students of minority community. Students who have passed Class 10 with 95% of marks and above and Class 12 with 90% of marks and above in examinations conducted by Karnataka Secondary Education Examination Board or Department of Pre-University Education will receive the benefits of this incentive scheme.
The scholarship scheme was announced by the Directorate of Minorities, Karnataka with an objective to encourage parents from minority communities to send their children to school so that they can continue their education without any financial crisis.
This scholarship is for students who have scored more than 50% marks in their previous annual examination and are studying between Class 1 and 10.
Launched by the Government of Karnataka, the aim of this scholarship is to encourage and provide financial assistance to the students of the minority community of the state so that they can continue their higher education. This scholarship is mainly for students of communities such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, Buddhists, Parsis, and Jains.
Students studying above Class 11 and who have scored 50% marks and above in their previous semester (for semester wise courses) or previous year (for year wise courses) are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
With an objective to provide financial assistance to the minority community of the Karnataka state, the scheme has been introduced by the Government of Karnataka. The students belonging to Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Buddhist and Parsi community who wants to study MPhil and PhD are eligible to apply for this scholarship.
