Question:

Can commerce student do maths honours?

Answer:

Yes Commerce students can take admission in BSc (H) Maths if they have maths as one of the subject in 12th even if it is optional.

No college usually denies admission to a student on the basis that student is from commerce stream or even any other stream.
But one requirement that many of the colleges want to be fulfilled in order to give admission in Maths(honors) is that the candidate must have Mathematics as their optional or main subject in 11th and 12th standard.

But one thing you must remember is that you should go for this course only if you have a passion for this subject and you are willing to make your future in this direction. Maths(honors), no doubt is a very brilliant course but then also you should opt for this course only when you have real interest in the subject matter.

As far as Delhi University is concerned they can take admission (the course name says mathematical science in DU) if the students have studied maths as one of the subject till class 12th.
