If yes, then just like the JEE and other competitive examination, the UPSEE (Uttar Pradesh State-level Entrance Examination) is conducted every year for getting admission to top engineering and professional colleges in UP.

Must-to-be-known facts

Conducted by the Dr. A P J Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, under the supervision and control of the Central Admission Board, the UPSEE is a renowned state level entrance examination that offers admission into leading engineering as well as professional colleges in UP in courses such as B.Tech., B.Arch., B.Pharm., BFA, BFAD, BHMCT, MCA, and MBA.

Here are few important facts about the UPSEE that every student must know –

The examination for 2018 is scheduled to be held on 29 April 2018, 5 May 2018 and 6 May 2018.

The applications for UPSEE 2018 are accepted between 23 January 2018 to 30 March 2018.

The examination is conducted offline at centres designated in different cities in UP.

There is be no negative marking for the examination.

The examination not only offers admission to students to first year of degree courses, but also offers lateral entry to second year of B.Tech., MCA, B.Pharm. programme.

Syllabus to be prepared

Depending on the course for which the student is applying, the syllabus may vary. Here is a brief detail about the subjects that they need to cover while preparing for admissions to different courses –

For admission to B.Tech. course, the subjects to be covered for preparation include Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology/Agriculture.

For admission to B.Arch. course, the subjects to be covered for preparation include mathematics and aesthetic sensitivity and drawing aptitude.

Key preparation tips and tricks to adopt

Now, when most of the students are aware of what they are required to study for the UPSEE examination, here are few important preparations tricks and tips for them –

Keep the foundation strong – The strength of a building depends on its foundation and so is the preparation for any competitive examination. While students are heading on begin their preparations for UPSEE, they should primarily focus on strengthening their basic concepts.

Be an effective time manager – Time management holds significant importance in any examination preparation. Thus, the students need to manage their time efficiently while heading on to studies.

Seek guidance from experts – Since the syllabus to be covered is vast, the students need get assistance from experts and teachers. They can guide them the right approach to prepare for the examination.

Solve practice papers and mock tests – In the hoard of grasping everything in the syllabus, some students may mess up the topics they have learned. So, it is advisable for students to self-evaluate their performance by attempting the mock tests and practice papers.
