With many prominent institutes of higher education such as All India Institute of Medical Sciences, IIM Visakhapatnam, IIT Tirupati, National Institute of Technology Andhra Pradesh and IIITDM Kurnool and Indian Institute of Petroleum and Energy, Andhra Pradesh boasts of being an educational hub in the southern part of the country.

The Andhra Pradesh government has also implemented a number of schemes such as Fee Reimbursement Scheme for students belonging to economically backwards sections of the state to bring them to the mainstream.

With a prime focus to improve the literacy rate and to enhance the quality of education further in the state, the Andhra Pradesh government has launched a number of schemes and scholarships for its students.

Here, we have prepared a list of scholarships for students of Andhra Pradesh, who can avail these opportunities to pursue their dream education in the state.

Orphans and Disable Brahmin Scholarship, Andhra Pradesh

Introduced by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation, this scholarship is designed for the Brahmin students of the state. The prime objective of this scholarship is to enable orphan and children with special needs to take up higher studies without any financial hurdle. As part of the scholarship, a specific amount will be given directly to the selected applicants or to their parents/guardians’ account. The income from all the sources of the applicant’s parents must not exceed INR 3 lakhs.

Bharati Scheme for Education (BSE) Andhra Pradesh

Launched by the Andhra Pradesh Brahmin Welfare Corporation (ABC), this scheme is also for the Brahmin students of Andhra Pradesh. As one-time financial assistance, a specific amount will be given to the selected applicants through the prescribed process. To be eligible to apply for this scheme, the applicants should belong to Brahmin Community with parents residing in the state. The applicants must be regular students and they must not be getting should not have got any other scholarship from other sources, except availing benefit from Archaka Welfare Trust. Their family annual income should be not exceeding INR 3 Lacs.

Vidyadhan-Andhra Intermediate Scholarship

Launched by the Sarojini Damodaran Foundation, this scholarship is designed to support the college education of meritorious students belonging to the economically challenged sections of society. Selected students will be eligible to receive a two-year scholarship from the Foundation. If students were found to be doing well in studies, then they will be given scholarships for pursuing any degree course of their interest. The scholarship amount for graduation courses varies from INR10,000 to INR 60,000 per year depending on the course and duration.

Gayathri Scheme for Academic Excellence (GS-AE) Andhra Pradesh

Introduced by the Gayathri Scheme for Academic Excellence (GS-AE), this scholarship is specifically designed for the Brahmin students of Andhra Pradesh. The prime focus of this scholarship is to identify the toppers of the school, college, different institutes.

To be eligible to apply for this scholarship, the applicants should belong to Brahmin Community and should be a regular student. The applicant must be a topper of the class while completing the educational course in Andhra Pradesh only. To avail the benefits of this scholarship, the applicant must not accept any other scholarship.
