Here’s a list of factors for your consideration before you take a call on your ultimate destination for study. Take a look at them and take the final decision regarding your foreign education.

Application procedure

To study in your chosen university/institution of Singapore, you will have to apply to each one of them separately. Contact the international office of the institution directly to gather information. Before you apply for the course, read every detail minutely and keep all the necessary documents ready while filling up the application form.

Visa procedure

Students who wish to pursue their educational dream in Singapore need not apply for student visa because their visa is linked with their application. On getting accepted in a programme of a university in Singapore, students receive their visa along with their acceptance letter.

But students do need to apply for Student Pass at the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) not earlier than two months before the commencement of the course neither later than one month before the course begins. Students will have to register with Student’s Pass Online Application & Registration System (SOLAR).

Cost of living in Singapore

Being the global business hub, Singapore’s standard of living is really high. But it is still affordable as compared to the destinations like US, UK and Australia. The average cost of tuition fee is around S$ 14,000 per year but it varies from institute to institute. On average, living in Singapore will cost you around S$10,000 annually. Besides this, Student Pass allows students to earn by working during school holidays for at least 16 hours per week so that they could compensate some of their expenses.
